The Pen Whispers What the Mouth Can Only Wish

When you hear my name,

Is there a tear in your heart?

Or is there still a spark?

I’m sorry I left you in the dark.

The mind does foolish things with fear.

It told my feet to run,

Away from someone who felt like my right lung

But, then again, I was young,

Too afraid of opening up to something like love.

Funny how when I let go, I fell,

The world does funny things to prepare you for living hell,

But I thank the heavens every day,

That they did not sink you as well.

Even if I was just released from my emotional cell,

I’d rather die than let your spirit quell.

Kind of insane,

But I know what I felt.

Sad I can’t say it,

But I can write it well.
