The Modern Tragedy

Your actions are venom,

Deadliest poison of them all.

But I stay away now

I’ve been warned from a far.

I won’t be there for your fall

Because your toxicity is potent

But it’s ruining you most of all.

You see, I can run away

From the damage lying in your fangs.

There’s only so far your head can sway,

And I don’t need the dismay you’ll bring,

But you can’t escape.

For when you slither away,

Your poison will stay in your brain

Until you change your ways.

You’re digging your grave,

And I won’t be at the wake.

It’s so sad to watch this play

Knowing it only ends tragic for the snake.
