Take your intentions out,
Set them on the floor slow,
Put your hands above you head,
Don’t move while I search you,
For hidden agendas,
For misguided woes.
Do you know how many times
I’ve been told
That I’m intriguing,
Someone to get to know?
The story ends always the same:
With them leaving
When they discover
I am more than just a body.
When you’re different, it’s scary,
When you’re unusual,
Its harrowing-
“Not worth it right now”,
“Maybe later”,
“I’m sure you’ll be around,
When I’m older and wiser
And I want to settle down”-
Not quite my dear,
I don’t work like a bookmarked page,
And I sure as hell won’t be here anyways.
I’ll see you in hindsight,
When everything becomes clear:
You should’ve taken the jump while you could,
Despite all of your weightless fears.
