Blue, blue skies
Shine on hives of minds pacing along a busy street.
A blessing in disguise, because all these eyes hide the same hardened feats.
Yet, a boundary set is skin divides them.
It’s a very sin if you think any other whim.
But don’t be fooled,
The man with the dark skin loves his kin, just like you do;
And that lady’s wife would give her her life if she had to;
The boy with the kite came from a fight that took both his sisters in the plight and still sees the light in his life;
Even the man with the cane feels the same pain, and even though he is lame, he still has a name.
So, you see, we are all the same, and it’s a shame nobody can see through skin beacuse below it we all love and live.
So, it’s time to give in, and let the light break in.
Now, see your neighbor for who he is, not the color of his skin nor the god he believes in.
Because as long as we remain, and stain history with each name, we won’t be tamed by what society claims.
So today, under the blue sunny skies,
let’s escape this fate and try to recognize the blessing in front of everyone’s eyes, which is that: we are all alive.
And until we die, let’s all thrive,
and love each other based on minds and focus less on the outside because, inside,
we are all the same.
